Secrets of the Dead Delves into England’s Dark Ages with King Arthur’s Lost Kingdom

Episode Premieres Wednesday, March 27 at 10 p.m. on PBS (check local listings)

King Arthur’s legacy portraits him as a Dark Ages hero.  But Secrets of the Dead: King Arthur’s Lost Kingdom gives great insight into the lives of the Brittons, Angles and Saxons, and what archaeology reveals about them.  The program constructs a map using x-rays, gliders and computer models to reveal the true relationship between the peoples inhabiting Britain.  Professor Alice Roberts returns to Tintagel, an early trade center, to uncover the facts about the mythological king.
